A Love Note from Sprintly's Founder
To our customers, supporters, and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I'm announcing Sprintly will be closing its doors on August 1st, 2018.
I started Sprintly on December 3rd, 2011 with my buddy Graham Blache. We wanted to offer something better than what existed. Something that wasn't quite as complicated as JIRA, but offered more powerful features than a Trello. Over the years, I'd like to think we've offered a more refined workflow to people looking for "Just Right" in their project management tooling.
The company history has been rather winding and complicated at times. We started out as a venture-backed startup, merged with a consulting shop, and will be ending as it started: the sole project of me, the founder. I want to thank everyone who contributed their time, money, and energy to this project. Without you all, Sprintly would still be a sticky note gathering dust.
Where and how did things go wrong? Sprintly always suffered from the realities of our particular market: we offered an opinionated way of managing teams and it turned out not enough people shared our opinion. In hindsight this is pretty obvious since workflows are kinda like opinions in that everyone has one. I think this is why tools like JIRA and Trello are so successful. They let you decide how to manage your workflow.
So here it is, the end of the road. Thank you again to everyone who supported us!
